Job Overview: A leading global provider of multi-client geoscience data and related services to oil and gas Exploration and Production industry seeks mid-tier and senior level Interpretation Geophysicists to work in their expanding Geological and Geophysical Interpretation Group, which is predominately focused on exploration. The Company has experienced a 25% increase in their G&G services in the last year and this demand continues. Applicants are invited with a minimum of 5 years oil and gas industry experience, proven seismic interpretation skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Role offers great exposure to global data sets and career potential working for an expanding dynamic Company.

The Company provides extensive global geophysical and geological data libraries that include multi-client seismic data, magnetic and gravity data, digital well logs, production data and directional surveys, they offer advanced processing and imaging services, interpretation products, and data integration solutions.

Working alongside a team of experienced geologists, geophysicists and petrophysicists within this group, you will undertake seismic data interpretation and prospect identification projects. You will get great exposure working with global datasets predominantly consisting of 2D and 3D marine data.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of Geophysics, you will be expected to:

  • Become competent in the Company's work practices, processes and the software used.
  • Build strong working relationships with your team players.
  • Undertake the interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic utilizing global datasets.
  • Undertake seismic facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy.
  • Contribute to prospect generation studies and take on more responsibility as your progress your career within the group.
  • Develop your understanding of the Company's core skill set.
  • Keep abreast of industry geophysical work practices and trends - be proactive in developing your technical and industry expertise.

This is a great opportunity for a geophysicist with proven seismic interpretation experience. You will gain exposure to global datasets, working with clients, and developing your skills in integrated interpretation techniques. Requirements: The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in either in Geoscience or Geophysics essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years oil industry experience essential. The Company is looking to fill 2 positions from mid-tier to senior level.
  • Proven seismic interpretation experience essential, preferably both 2D and 3D marine data.
  • An exploration geophysical background highly desired.
  • A good understanding of seismic facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy desired.
  • An understanding of play, prospect and hydrocarbon resource evaluations essential.
  • Some experience of industry seismic interpretation software essential SMT-Kingdom advantageous.
  • Exposure to various seismic datasets advantageous.
  • Ability to articulate evaluation results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - with the ability to develop good working relationships with clients essential.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to keep abreast of new trends and technologies in this market.
  • Ambitious, with the desire to expand your technical knowledge across a range of disciplines.
  • Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic.
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Package: A minimum Base Salary of £50K (GBP) plus a Bonus Scheme that could deliver an annual package of £60K is on offer. There will be flexibility on base salary for a high calibre candidate. Bonus paid on quarterly basis. In addition, an attractive benefit package is offered.
