Job Overview: A world leader in the production of hydrocarbon based energy is building a leading "Unconventional Team" and seeks a Senior Gas Completions and Stimulation Engineer to contribute to their advancement in unconventional gas exploration. Applicants are invited with a minimum of 15 years industry experience, a strong background in well completions, some of which is in fracture stimulation, design and execution, and fracture stimulation of unconventional reservoirs. Working on a Tax Free, Expat Contract for a minimum of two years in an exciting and challenging role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to become a leading Completions and Stimulation specialist within the realms of Unconventional Gas.

The Company has committed to refocusing their business strategy with an emphasis on the development of natural gas. They are pursuing opportunities in unconventional resources, and as such are building a leading technological team of unconventional experts. As part of this commitment they have increased their exploration and production budget by billions ($) largely to develop gas resources and unconventional resource potential. Their objective over forthcoming years is to replace their current oil economy with a natural-gas-based economy. This is a paramount strategy and hence the importance of building a strong experienced "Unconventional Team".

The Company currently operate in excess of 140 rigs and plan to add an additional 37 rigs by the end of this year - predominately for natural gas. But with their commitment to develop gas and unconventional resources, the number of rigs is forecasted to rise extensively over the next few years. In addition, they have invested heavily in recent years in international R&D centres and research alliances to drive their technological advancements and to accelerate their deepwater and shale activities.

Responsibilities: Reporting to Unconventional Gas Team Leader, the role encompasses many functions including:

• Become competent in the Company's exploration program for unconventional resources - understanding their challenges, technologies available etc.
• Contribute to the success of the exploration of unconventional gas resources.
• Work in an integrated multidisciplinary team understanding the challenges and constraints of the objectives at hand, sharing ideas, recommending quality solutions, advancing the technical knowledge of the group.
• Work with the Simulation Service Providers.
• Depending on your level of expertise:
• Read and interpret open hole logs, integrate geomechanics and other data into the design and interpret well test data.
• Analyze well conditions.
• Provide advice on well completions regarding a stimulation design that optimizes production with consideration for both cost and risk
• Perform both field and real time remote job supervision
• Review completion request to ensure clear objectives are provided and that the planned stimulation is designed to meet this objective.
• Perform both field and real time remote job supervision.
• Develop perforation, flow back, and stimulation best practices and standards in specific areas and formations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for all frac job failures.
• Prepare reports for stimulation operations conducted including design and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for stimulation and completions.
• Apply your specialist knowledge and experience to discussions with colleagues and third parties to influence work programmes and key decisions.
• Continue to develop your completions and stimulation engineering knowledge base especially within unconventionals. Keep abreast of industry trends and practices.
• Attend relevant seminars/conferences and discussion forums re your speciality.

This Unconventional Gas Team will consist of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir simulation engineers, geomechanic specialists, geomodellers, drilling/completions/stimulations engineers and many more. Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

• An Engineering or related degree. MSc or PhD highly preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years oil and gas industry experience essential.
• Proven experience in fracture stimulation of unconventional reservoirs essential.
• A strong completions and stimulations background essential - can develop perforation, flow back, and stimulation best practices and standards; analysis well conditions and provide advice on well completions; analysis frac failures; prepare reports for stimulation operations; monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for stimulation and completions....
• The ability to read and interpret open hole logs, integrate geomechanics and other data into the design and interpret well test data.
• A work history that demonstrates initiative and innovative thinking.
• A drive to be at the leading edge of technological and work practice advancement within unconventional gas
• Proven experience using fracture stimulation modelling software technologies essential. Experience using Meyer, Stim Plan, Frac Pro, Gopher highly desired.
• Enjoys working in an integrated and multidisciplinary team essential.
• Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage with team players and management in a technically coherent manner essential.
• Good people management skills - ability to perform both field and real time remote job supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships within the team and across the Company as required essential.
• Previous experience working or living in the Middle East advantageous.
• Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic.
