Job Overview: An established independent software company focused on providing integration solutions for upstream applications and data seeks a Senior Account Manager to support their growing business in the US.

The Company founded in 2000 has developed a framework that gives applications and data stores the flexibility and power to create, read, update and delete data from diverse projects, anywhere within a client's network. Clients have experienced improved productivity, improved decision-making and lower costs by using this framework to integrate their upstream applications and data stores. With no comparable competitive product on the market, this framework remains the data integration standard in the upstream market segment.

The Company partners with the leading E&P solution providers in the world, and 30+ software vendors have licensed their framework Developer Kit to provide integration of 40+ applications and 12 databases. With clients recording workflow efficiency improvements as high as 99% when importing seismic, interpretation and well data, the adoption of these solutions by major oil company clients has dramatically increased globally.

This increase in demand has necessitated the Company increasing their sales and pre-sales support teams worldwide, and this position will support the expansion in their US market. With a technical sales background in the oil and gas industry, your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage current and new business opportunities within the majors and large independent oil/gas and service companies. Therefore, it is important that you have a good understanding of the organisational structures of oil companies, the ability to identify the key decision makers across these structures, and the confidence and drive to work these contacts to position and sell the value of the Company's offering.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will be expected to:

  • Develop new business opportunities within agreed US accounts, for all Company offerings, including software licenses, maintenance, training, and consultancy services.
  • Develop a sales plan and strategy to support your growth targets.
  • Develop a clear understanding of each account -how it operates, makes purchasing decisions, business activities and drivers as well as needs.
  • Identify key decision makers in each account. (Influencer, Technical Buyer, Business decision Maker, Financial Buyer) and develop high-level relationships with them.
  • Manage all aspects of your sales life cycle, striving for success at each stage to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Working with the technical support team to ensure the successful management of your account activities, i.e. presentations, demos, training, Lunch and Learns, evaluations, quotes, and after sales follow-up.
  • Working with the technical team, delivering professional technical presentations at client sites, professional society meetings, and Trade Shows as required.
  • Provide and communicate accurate and timely sales forecasts.
  • Keep abreast of industry and Company developments and trends. Feedback client recommendations effectively.
  • Working with marketing personnel to devise effective marketing strategies to support your sales plan, to increase awareness and reputation of the Company and solutions offered.

Candidate Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree preferred -Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering desired.
  • Minimum 10 years Oil and Gas work experience essential, preferably with a strong technical G&G background.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in selling technology solutions to the G&G sector of the oil & gas industry essential.
  • Good understanding of organisational structures and the ability to work relevant structures to close deals essential.
  • Good practical understanding of oil company G&G workflows essential and knowledge of data stores used (e.g. Finder, OpenWorks, Geoframe) highly advantageous.
  • A self-starter with a drive to achieve and exceed sales targets and be accountable for sales within your accounts essential.
  • Strong sales management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure objectives are met and to produce sales forecasts and reports for management essential.
  • Strong client satisfaction focus - ability to manage successfully the various activities involved the sales life cycle essential.
  • Strong business acumen - must be innovative with the ability to think outside the box to close the big-deals essential.
  • Reliable and dedicated team player, excellent organisational skills with the ability to get things done to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills - both internally and externally with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Spanish language skills advantageous - may be potential to work South American regions, but not necessary key to attaining this position.
  • Ability to travel within your region.

Package: An attractive Base Salary circa $100K with an OTE circa $200K+ plus company benefits is on offer dependent on skills and experience. This is a highly lucrative market and business opportunity and there is great potential for a higher OTE
