The Company, formed in 1984, was the first company to develop geoscience interpretation software for the oil and gas industry, seeks a Junior Geophysical Sales Account Executive to join their experience sales team to support their growing business in Europe, Afrn tools for Windows NT and continues to lead the industry in PC-based exploration and reservoir management software. Their software is compatible with most industry database systems, with links to OpenWorks, GeoFrame and Openspirit data stores.
As one of the leading providers of PC integrated software suites for exploration, the Company has grown year on year and continues to expand into new markets.
In this junior role, your primary responsibility will be to work along side an experienced sales team, to develop existing and new business opportunities of the Company exploration and reservoir management software. The Company is committed to providing support and mentoring where needed and you will be trained in all relevant technologies, work practices and Company sales methodologies.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the General Manager - EAME, you will be expected to:
- Become competent in the Company's full suite of software solutions.
- Work along side senior sales personnel, understanding the client base, and sales methodologies used.
- Initially, support the existing sales effort by building relationships with key client personnel.
- Demonstrate the company's software to clients, clearly articulating the value proposition.
- As you progress in your career, you will take responsibility for managing designated accounts, increasing awareness and reputation of the company's solutions within these accounts.
- Develop sales leads and new opportunities, ensuring that all aspects of the sales cycle are processed effectively for your accounts.
- Focus your sales efforts within a specific region of the UK, European, African or Middle East markets.
- Develop good working relationships with assigned clients and participate in developing client specific sales plans.
- Collect, prioritise data/product/service requirements and communicate them effectively within the Company, ensuring that your client views and perceptions are represented.
- Assist marketing personnel to devise effective marketing strategies.
- Attend trades shows and conferences as required.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Geophysics essential
- A strong academic geophysical background OR some sales experience within the Oil and Gas industry essential.
- Good commercial instincts with a keen desire to pursue a career in sales essential.
- Previous experience in sales and/or marketing within the oil and gas industry highly advantageous.
- Experience using or supporting geophysical applications highly advantageous. e.g. Kingdom, Landmark, Geoquest software).
- Some practical understanding of oil company G&G workflows desirable.
- Knowledge of G&G data environments such as OpenWorks, GeoFrame, Finder desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills - with the ability to develop good working relationships with clients essential.
- The ability to articulate value propositions to prospective clients essential.
- Enthusiasm and drive to keep abreast of new trends and technologies in this market.
- Self-motivated, able to act independently with minimum supervision while remaining a strong team player. Proven ability to work with all levels within the company to accomplish goals.
- Adaptable and enthusiastic, and highly flexible.
- Multi-task orientated- the ability to take ownership of activities and the tenacity to ensure successful completion.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Multilingual skills a plus.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally
Package: An attractive base salary of £30K - £45K (GBP) plus commission giving a potential of an on target earning (OTE) of £40K-£60K per annum plus Company Benefits is on offer, dependent on skills and experience. Role offers a great working dynamic environment.
