Job Overview:
A broad-based provider of cutting-edge seismic imaging technologies, services, and solutions for the global oil & gas industry, seeks a Business Development Manager to further develop business opportunities for their seismic processing services in North and West Africa.
The Company is recognised as the leader in advanced seismic processing for land and marine data. They lead the development and usage of advanced marine imaging techniques in key areas such as de-multiple techniques, velocity modeling, PreSDM, and sub-salt imaging.
Their integrated service approach, which includes the entire seismic process, significantly reduces the risk and cost of finding and producing petroleum and has earned them a high reputation and a growing client base. They are committed to providing accurate seismic images and their solutions include seismic acquisition, pre-migration time processing, pre-stack time and depth imaging, 4D, multi-component and attribute analysis of seismic data.
They have an established client base in Africa, and due to service demand your role will be to manage existing client accounts in North and West Africa and to identify new business opportunities in this region for processing services.
Responsibilities:Reporting to the Managing Director in the UK, this role encompasses many functions including:
- Develop strong relationships with key technical and commercial personnel in Oil and Gas Companies within your region.
- Develop service demand within these accounts for Company solutions.
- With a technical background, you will articulate the value proposition of the Company's processing offerings. You will promote and champion land and full wave technologies and solutions
- Develop innovative business development plans that meet Company objectives.
- Provide visible and ongoing leadership within your accounts, scheduling regular client visits.
- Working with the EAME sales team, you will provide feedback on potential opportunities to other business units.
- Collect prioritised product/service requirements and communicate to relevant personnel.
- Where relevant, coordinate activities with the Company's preferred third party contractors for account solutions.
- Provide accurate and timely business development forecasts.
- Monitor and manage client account satisfaction, ensuring a high level is maintained.
- Develop consistent sales presentations & materials for your accounts.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
- Degree essential. Preferably in either in an Earth Science or business related subject. MBA advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years oil and gas industry essential.
- Strong seismic processing background essential.
- Minimum of 5 years in a sales or business development role essential. Sales of seismic processing software, seismic data or seismic services highly advantageous.
- Previous experience of working in Africa highly advantageous - especially North or West Africa.
- Strong business acumen - the ability to devise, monitor, manage and communicate sales plans and forecasts effectively.
- The ability to articulate value propositions to high-level executives in E&P companies essential.
- The technical aptitude to grasp quickly the challenges and rewards of land and full wave technologies and the ability to champion and influence sales of this technology the oil industry essential. Full training will be provided.
- Experience of working with major oil companies with established senior level relationships desirable.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills as you will participate in executive level meetings with clients.
- Ability to build strong relationships with oil company personnel essential.
- Abilities in high-level problem identification and formulation of conceptual/technical solutions essential, preferably in the geophysical arena.
- International work experience a plus.
- Foreign Language a plus.
- Must be able to travel.
Package: Depending on skills and experience, the candidate could expect a Base Salary of £45K-£65K and an on target earning (OTE) of £80K-£120K plus attractive Company Benefits.
