A broad-based provider of cutting-edge seismic imaging technologies, services, and solutions for the global oil & gas industry, seeks a Country Manager to manage all aspects of the Indian operation.
The Company is a leading technology-focused seismic solutions company. With over 35 years of industry experience, their business divisions provides advanced acquisition equipment, software and planning and seismic processing services to the global oil & gas industry. They are leading the industry into the emerging digital, full-wave era, extending seismic applications across the E&P lifecycle.
The Company has grown both organically and through acquisitions and have established an excellent reputation with contracting companies and major oil and gas companies. They have a long established relationship with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), the national oil company of India. In late 2006 they won the tender for the supply of 14 state of the art land seismic imaging systems to ONGC, a contract worth in excess of $60million. On the back of this, a range of additional services has been secured from the various business units of the Company.
Building upon this success, your primary responsibility will be to mange the delivery of these services with ONGC, whilst maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. You will work with senior level ONGC staff, understanding their challenges and constraints and devise long term plans to support their needs. You will be supported by business managers across the Company's various business units.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP of the EAME & ISc Region, this role encompasses many functions including:
- Undertake training in the Company's services and technical solutions, becoming competent in all required.
- Manage all aspects of running the Company's business within India, including resourcing and operational needs, budgets, and service delivery.
- Provide visible and ongoing leadership within your region.
- Develop strong relationships with key technical, commercial and managerial personnel throughout ONGC.
- Manage all relationships with ONGC ensuring that services delivered across the Company's business units are within the service levels agreed.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction at all levels.
- Provide market, revenue and sales information for forecasting and business planning purposes.
- Actively develop new business opportunities and innovative business models for growth within India
- Work closely with the business development managers of the various business units to develop business plans.
- Collect and disseminate customer requirements/feedback to relevant business units.
- Provide feedback and market intelligence on market trends/requirements/competition within India to the Marketing organization for brand and program initiatives.
- Monitor business objectives against results and maintain the business plan, adjusting for current and future prospects, markets forecasts, and planning requirements
- Keep abreast of regional trends and future requirements in relation to the Company's technologies and solutions
This strategic role offers immense scope and autonomy for an entrepreneurial individual who wishes to lead an expanding organisation with multiple business units already operating in India with a major oil company. Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
- Degree essential. Preferably in either in an Earth Science or business related subject. MBA advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years oil and gas industry essential. Strategic planning experience highly advantageous.
- Previous experience of working in the Indian sub continent highly desirable. Must have a strong cultural awareness.
- Experience as a Country Manager, Operational Manager OR senior Project Manager essential.
- An outstanding knowledge of the oilfield lifecycle especially in the areas of seismic acquisition and processing essential.
- The ability to lead and manage service delivery from various business units to a major oil company essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate value propositions to high-level executives in E&P companies is essential
- An outstanding knowledge of the oilfield lifecycle especially in the areas of seismic acquisition and processing essential.
- Strong business acumen - the ability to think strategically and develop long term strategic plans essential.
- Strong negotiating skills essential, with the ability to define commercial terms that satisfy both Company and Clients.
- Minimum of 5 years in either a sales/business development or technical consulting role (internally or externally within your company) and the desire to succeed in a commercial strategic role essential.
- Strong business acumen - the ability to think strategically and develop long term strategic plans essential.
- Clear understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry and the ability to articulate value propositions to high-level executives in E&P companies essential.
- The technical aptitude to grasp quickly the challenges and rewards of full wave technologies and the ability to champion and influence sales of this technology within oil companies, essential. Full training will be provided.
- Experience of working with major oil companies essential with established senior level relationships desirable.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills as you will participate in executive level meetings with clients.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both oil company and contractor personnel essential.
- Experience across the disciplines of seismic acquisition, processing and/or interpretation highly advantageous.
- Abilities in high-level problem identification and formulation of conceptual/technical solutions essential, preferably in the geophysical arena.
- Strong commercial acumen - the ability to devise, monitor, manage and communicate sales plans and forecasts effectively.
- International work experience a plus.
- Foreign Language a plus.
- Must be able to travel.
Package: This is a strategic level position and as such an attractive package is being offered. Depending on skills and experience, the candidate could expect a Base Salary of £70K-£90K plus company benefits and a tax beneficial regime. Relocation and accommodation package provided if needed.
