Job Overview: A Global Company focused on innovative subsurface solutions for the Oil & Gas industry seeks a Geoscience Technical Sales Executive to support the Company's growing client base in the UK. The Company realise that you may not have all the technical skills required and are therefore committed to providing support and mentoring where needed and you will be trained in all relevant technologies, work practices and Company sales methodologies. Great opportunity for a candidate with a geoscience background.

The company is headquartered in Delft, the Netherlands, and has regional offices located at the world's main Oil & Gas hubs. The Company's flagship solution is a fully integrated subsurface modelling and simulation application, based on differentiating 3Dgrid technology, which allows for the handling of highly complex geological structures and ensures true integration for geological modelling, reservoir simulation and (full field) geo-mechanical stress simulation.

This full workflow-integration framework enables multi disciplinary teams to grow geological and reservoir simulation models through natural team collaboration thereby allowing for a more streamlined and efficient approach to meeting the challenges of enhanced oil recovery from mature and complex fields.

The Company has existing clients in the UK. Working with and supported by the Sales Director and Sales Team, your role will be to be to identify potential new clients, build relationships and generate new sales leads. You will also be supported by a strong technical geoscience team.

Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Sales Director, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Become competent in the Company's products and services.
  • Working closely with the sales team, you will support their sales strategies by visiting existing and prospective customer sites as required to give presentations of the software applications. You may also support clients during sales evaluations of the applications.
  • To seek out and cultivate potential customers for the company's products and services.
  • Develop, maintain, and extend client relationships.
  • Develop sales leads and opportunities for the company's products and solutions.
  • Develop, negotiate and close sales opportunities and contracts.
  • Liase with Software Development and Technical Consultancy Teams, to feedback comments and requests from existing and potential customers, and to alert Sales Teams to future prospects.
  • Support Marketing Effort - working with sales and marketing personnel in activities that increase awareness and reputation of the Company's offerings.
  • Knowledge Development - keep abreast of industry trends and practices relating to core business.
  • Ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the service delivery.

This is a key role with real autonomy and great variety, suiting a flexible and dynamic individual who has a strong geoscience background and a real passion to forge a successful career in sales.

Preferences:The successful candidate will have:

  • An Earth Science or Reservoir Engineering related degree essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience within the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry
  • Ability to learn and sell G&G workflow related solutions to potential and existing clients essential.
  • Confident and self reliant - the ability to visit clients worldwide and demonstrate technical application and value essential.
  • Previous experience of seismic interpretation, structural modelling, static reservoir modelling, dynamic reservoir simulation, and well planning and associated software highly advantageous.
  • Previous Technical/Pre-sales or marketing experience highly advantageous but must have the desire to succeed in sales.
  • Awareness of a sales life cycle and previous experience involving direct customer contact highly desirable.
  • A broad understanding of the Oil Life Cycle (Exploration, Production, Development) advantageous.
  • Remote sensing analytical skills highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated and excellent team player, with the ability to work with all levels to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to relate to team members and communicate confidently with clients.
  • Ability to make bold recommendations and drive successful projects.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to keep abreast of new trends and technologies in this market.
  • Must be service orientated.
  • Willing to travel.

Package: A Base Salary of £35K - £45K (GBP), plus a commission scheme delivering an on target earning (OTE) of £60K - £70K plus company benefits is on offer depending on skills and experience. There may be some flexibility on base salary for a high calibre candidate.
