A Company recognised as the pioneers in providing cutting-edge seismic imaging technologies, services, and solutions for the global oil & gas industry seeks a Team Lead to support their expanding business.
The Company leads the development and usage of advanced marine imaging techniques in key areas such as de-multiple techniques, velocity modelling, PreSDM, and sub-salt imaging. Their integrated service approach to the entire seismic process includes seismic acquisition, pre-migration time processing, pre-stack time and depth imaging, 4D, multi-component and attribute analysis of seismic data. They are recognised as offering leading processing consulting services to their clients and have offices and joint ventures around the world.
As an experienced seismic processor with strong project management skills, your primary responsibility will be to manage a team of technical staff (circa 8) providing marine processing services. Working closely with clients, you will understand their project requirements, challenges and constraints and clearly communicate this your team. You will manage all aspects of the service delivery, ensuring that projects are delivered in a professional and timely manner to the client. You will support and mentor your team, helping to develop their skills and experience levels.
Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Operations Manager this role encompasses many tasks including:
- Become competent in the use of the Company's technologies, workflows and practices.
- Liase with clients to identify and understand their technical requirements, constraints, and deliverables etc. Agree parameters of the project.
- Manage all aspects of the service delivery of your team to the end client.
- Be technically involved in projects - offering advice and guidance in the processing of marine 2D and 3D seismic data using Landmark's processing application 'Promax' and the company's proprietary software.
- Be available to team members to solve some of the most difficult seismic problems to both reveal and correctly position subsurface events.
- Working with other team leaders, be proactive in improving service delivery, striving to achieve a high level of satisfaction at all stages of the delivery.
- Support and mentor your team - work with them to improve their skills and expertise and develop their career. Define individual objectives and review their progress.
- Identify resource requirements for forthcoming projects and work with relevant personnel to ensure personnel with required skills are available. Assist in the recruitment process where required.
- Lead a multi-cultural team using strong, motivated and enthusiastic leadership skills
This is a great opportunity for a marine seismic processor with the ability and desire to take on more responsibility. You will quickly gain exposure to leading geophysical technologies used in all aspects of pre-migration conditioning through to state of the art depth migration. Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
- A Degree in Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Physics or related Discipline essential.
- Minimum 10 years specializing in processing marine and/or land seismic data for a recognized contractor essential.
- Some supervisory or management experience, highly advantageous.
- Excellent team player with the ability and the desire to drive a processing team to success essential.
- Excellent client management skills - the ability to understand technical and service delivery requirements key and the ability to articulate these requirements to your team essential.
- Strong understanding of good project management practices - from project definition to delivery. The ability to work to deadlines, and conclude projects successfully with a strong focus to detail.
- Experience in processing 2D or/and 3D Marine data essential.
- Land and multi-component processing highly desirable.
- Experienced in using a mainstream Industry processing application such as Promax (highly desirable), GeoDepth, Omega, GeoVecteur, Focus, etc. essential.
- Knowledge of AVO, attribute analysis and/or interpretative processing, highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of Pre-stack Migration Theory advantageous.
- Motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
- Good interpersonal skills - the ability to work with all levels within the Company to accomplish goals.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Highly flexible - ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
- Must be service orientated.
- Willingness to travel.
Package: A base salary of £45K-£55K plus commission delivering potential earnings of £50K-£65K plus Company benefits is on offer dependent on skills and experience. There is flexibility on base salary for high calibre candidates.
