A leading Information Management Service Company is seeking a Recall Well Data Support Specialist to work at a major oil company client in Aberdeen.
The Company provides services that enable and deliver an effective management of both technical and non-technical data and information to the Oil & Gas industry, with their major competencies being Data and Information management, integration and solutions.
Their reputation is built on the provision of successful support to clients in the handling of crucial information and data across the E&P domain including Business Units, Functions and Assets. Services range from strategic data management planning to technical hands-on data management implementation and delivery.
The Company's solutions provide clients with the assurance that data and information is trusted and accessible, providing total confidence. Working at an oil company client site, your primary responsibility will be to provide recall well data management support services to their asset teams.
Responsibilities: Working at the oil company's premises as part of a project team and reporting to the Geosciences Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in the following activities:
- Geotechnical well data loading to the Petris' Recall application suite, focusing on well log data.
- Loading, clean up and management of well data types in corporate and projects stores.
- Transfer and migration of data between applications.
- Editing, splicing and merging of well logs.
- Quality control checks of digital well data types, including checking of digitized well logs.
- Verifying that project data meets quality criteria and carrying out periodic checks on the completeness, validity and quality of the data within the corporate and project data stores.
- Implement a QC checklist for each data type that can be used on each load in order to deliver a clean suite of data, which requires minimal QA from the user.
- Manage and ensure that data is available on-time and in the correct format for clients.
- Design, improve and maintain data management processes, policies and standards
- Define user data requirements through direct liaison with the user community and client representatives.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
- Degree in Geology or Earth Science preferred
- At least 3 years previous experience in a Well Data Support position, with an E&P Oil or Service Company, in a data loading or data management capacity essential
- Experienced in the use of Recall in a Data Management function with experience in handling production and reservoir test data essential.
- Basic petrophysical knowledge and experience of using other well related applications e.g. Geology, OpenWorks, Petrel is preferred
- Experience of cleaning, managing and quality control checking of well log data
- Understanding of and experience of handling all well data types, including their relationships and applicability essential.
- Familiarity with well data formats including LAS/LIS/DLIS file types
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing DM demands
- Proven understanding of the data lifecycle and the importance of capturing important data
- Excellent knowledge of company, best-practice and industry procedures and standards related to well data
- Proactive approach in ensuring data is available and accessible to end-users on time and in a professional manner.
- Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills, taking genuine pride in work
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, to liase with internal and client staff, with excellent customer service skills
- A mature and professional attitude, able to be a team player.
