Job Overview: A leading Industry E&P Software Company, providing subsurface solutions to the oil and gas industry worldwide seeks a Geophysical Support Specialist to support their pioneering processing and imaging technologies. This role is open to those with industry experience.

The Company provides leading integrated geoscience software and associated services for prospect generation and evaluation, enabling clients to proceed with less uncertainty and more confidence in their exploration and production activities. They have a global network of sales and user support serving all major oil and gas producing provinces in the world.

With an academic background in processing geophysics and industry experience your primary responsibility will be to provide front line support for the Company's processing and imaging technologies to the client base from the Surrey office.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Team Lead Customer Support, you will undertake the following:

  • Provide customer support for depth conversion & imaging software.
  • Accurately provide quality documentation of all support incidents.
  • Provide workflow assistance to the clients as required.
  • When requested, deliver quality product training, ensuring technologies are used effectively to optimise workflow.
  • Where required provide short-term onsite support, training & consultancy to clients throughout the European and African region.
  • Provide all services in a timely and professional manner, maintaining a high level of satisfaction throughout service delivery.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • A Geophysical Degree or higher essential.
  • Relevant geophysical work experience essential - e.g. depth conversion and/or seismic imaging.
  • Experience using GeoDepth or Explorer highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to articulate clearly in the English language to convey effective and accurate support to Clients.
  • Basic system support skills in Linux operating environments advantageous.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure.
  • Good problem solving, trouble-shooting and deductive reasoning/analytical skills.
  • Personable with the ability to work within a high performance team.
  • Desire to develop individual soft skills to enhance service delivery.
  • Strong desire to advance your technical knowledge of leading edge processing and imaging software.
  • Demonstrable written communication skills.
  • Ability to listen accurately, and understand issues clearly.
  • Able and willing to travel throughout Europe and Africa if required.

Package: A Base Salary of £42K-£45K plus performance bonus, and company benefits is on offer dependent on skills and experience. There may be some flexibility on salary for a high calibre candidate.
