Lead Planning Engineer - Trinidad and Tobago



A Major Global Operator has approached us in order to identify a Lead Planning Engineer to work on a large offshore tie-back project and to be based in Trinidad & Tobago.

The position reports to the responsible Project Controls Manager, or Project Controls Lead. Peers include the Cost Engineer, Functional Lead Engineers, and Performance Reporting staff.
Key responsibilities of the position will include;


-Developing the detailed offshore manpower histograms within the POB constraints, and provide advice on the most efficient use of resources in implementing the Brownfield activities.

-Ensure all planning aspects of the project are consistent with project Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements


-Analyse the detailed Drilling, Greenfield and Brownfield engineering, procurement and installation plans, identify potential conflicts and deviations and propose solutions to optimise the overall master schedule.


-Manage the shutdown planning input to the Asset against the associated budget plan.


-Produce and report progress S curves to allow visual representation of the baseline plan and progress.


-Perform schedule benchmarks and schedule risk analysis for different SIMOPS scenarios and review the outcome with the project management team including external stakeholders (e.g. contractors, partners, etc.)


-Obtain and integrate schedule data from contractors and other internal and external stakeholders i.e partners, government agencies


-Monitor and review (within the Terms & Conditions of the contract) the planning and schedule elements of contractors throughout the contract life-cycle; recommend corrective action where necessary.


-Verify progress and performance against plan, identify areas of potential schedule overrun requiring corrective action, forecast completions and provide accurate and timely project reports.


-Develop recovery plans to respond to negative variances in schedule and cost.


The successful candidate will have significant experience in developing detailed Brownfield schedules and understanding of resource requirements. They will also have a proven track record in project planning and delivery. A strong educational background in relevant discipline would also be advantageous.
