![]() Lead Reservoir Engineer - Aberdeen, ScotlandThis role is focused on the analysis and prediction of reservoir behaviour to inform, in conjunction with other technical data, reservoir exploitation and future investment decisions. The successful candidates will work in the UK Subsurface group in Aberdeen as a member of an integrated team responsible for subsurface aspects for one operated asset and providing technical advice on non-operated assets. The UK Subsurface group is responsible for all subsurface aspects of fields in production or under development on the UKCS and works closely with other UK departments including Wells, Exploration, Developments and P roduction. These roles report directly to the UK Subsurface Manager. Key Responsibilities •Utilise a range of analytical and predictive tools (DCA, material balance, reservoir simulation etc) to enable rigorous reservoir exploitation optimisation •Monitor the production behaviour of producing assets •Prepare technical documents including: depletion plans for field segments, production profiles for a variety of development schemes, reservoir management strategies and formulate reservoir uncertainty statements and mitigation plans •Prepare & document reserves estimates for reporting •Prepare & document production forecasts •Design & interpret well tests, liaising with the operations department •Design PVT data acquisition and laboratory analysis programmes •Provide on and offshore RE support for drilling, completions & well testing operations •Contribute to technical reports, such as well proposals, field development plans, license application documents and farm-ins •Present reservoir engineering work to partners and peer review teams. •Present to management and joint venture partners •Lead discussion on the adoption of non-traditional solutions and show willingness to consider all options The Candidate We are looking for candidates who are educated to degree level in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline and have significant experience in reservoir engineering methods including material balance analysis, fluid characterisation, SCAL data interpretation, well-test interpretation, well performance and production forecasting. A good understanding of the principles of field development planning and depletion planning is required along with hands-on experience of RE evaluation techniques. Candidates will be required to work closely with joint venture partners, government bodies and within multi-disciplinary teams, therefore the ability to articulate evaluation results and recommendations clearly and concisely is key.
