 Senior Geophysicist - Brazil - Houston, TexasOur client is expanding its activities in Brazil and is seeking an experienced geophysicist (8-15 years of experience) to work on the company's Brazil exploration activities in a multi-disciplinary exploration team in its well-established Houston office. Qualifications The successful candidates will have an MSc or PhD in geology or geophysics, and 5-15 years of active work experience in the oil industry or academia as professional geophysicists. Strong personal work efficiency, ethics, creativity, team-work and communication skills are essential qualifications, as is a desire to bridge interdisciplinary bounda ries. These positions will require international travel. The candidates are expected to have the following technical skills in order to excel in this position: •Experience with both 2D and 3D seismic interpretation in both deep and shallow water depositional environments; •Extensive experience with regional structural and seismic stratigraphic mapping preferably including gravity-magnetic data; •Extensive experience in integrating seismic stratigraphic frameworks with sequence stratigraphy from well data; •Extensive experience in generating synthetics and well ties; •Experience in initiating and overseeing geophysical interpretation studies, both internal and external; •Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to integrate geophysical data with geological data, petrophysics and engineering information; •Expert user of standard industry software, for example Petrel and Landmark products; The following would be an advantage: •Sequence stratigraphic and sedimentological hands-on experience; •Experience with inversions and advanced volume-based interpretation; Excellent prospects for the future The professional environment for geoscientists within this operator are unrivalled; there are numerous challenging professional opportunities available including future international expatriate assignments.
