![]() Lead Petrophysicist - OmanMy client, a leading operating company, is recruiting a Lead Petrophysicist to work on integrated reservoir modelling and FDP studies, to assure petrophysical deliverables are met. As a Lead Petrophysicist you will be responsible for carrying out detailed studies at both the regional and asset scale to advise on all aspects of petrophysical data acquisition, interpretation and implementation into ongoing and evolving field development planning. Assets are predominantly mature and so you will be expecting to advise on EOR techniques. Principal duties of the Lead Petrophysicist - Deliver technically excellence in petrophysics. - Coach and mentor less experienced staff, and act as a role model for them. - Work in an integrated team of geoscientists and petroleum / production engineers to deliver robust studies to define future field development opportunities and reserves potential. - Contribute to the maintenance and updating of the static and dynamic reservoir descriptions and models, ensuring that reservoir characteristics are properly understood and communicated. - Carry out integrated PP studies. - Run and analyse SCAL programs as and when required. - Identify technology requirements and plan and evaluate the testing of new tools and techniques. - Participate in the company's petrophysical community to share best practices, assist in peer assists, technical reviews and/or value assurance reviews across the company. - Together with the PP discipline head, review and improve the standards and processes for the PP discipline. - Contribute to one company wide technical expert group on Integrated Reservoir Modelling - Assist Cluster PP community by running 4-5 operational weekend duties per year Experience and Qualifications The Lead Petrophysicist will have: - University degree in Science or Engineering - A minimum of 15 years relevant experience - Skill in all core petrophysical competence areas with application to petrophysical studies, uncertainty management, support to 3D modelling and field development plans and well and reservoir management The Lead Petrophysicist should have previous experience with: - Lifecycle reservoir management - Integrated PP studies and solid understanding of the deliverables of the other disciplines - Field development planning - Project Management - Operations support - Working in multi-disciplinary PE teams - Coaching and a wish to develop and share skills The company strives for operational excellence in all areas and as such you will be a vital part in ensuring this is met.
