Ecologist with EIA Capability

Leeds, UK

Salary : £25K+

Qualification - MSc in Ecology or a related discipline

- Membership of IEEM or similar

- Protected species licence(s)

- Driving licence

Location - Leeds

Experience - Considerable consultancy experience

- Demonstrable skills in ecological surveys and report writing

- Demonstrable skills in coordinating multidisciplinary projects

Salary - £25,000 PLUS depending on level of experience

Company - Multidisciplinary consultancy

Staff - 13,000

Duties Include:

  • Project management

  • Bid preparation

  • Ecological survey work and subsequent report writing

  • Collaboration with other professionals on large projects

  • Preparing ecological chapters for EIA reports

  • Liaising with clients

  • Managing and mentoring a team of ecologists

Typical Projects

The main duties of the role will be to join the growing ecology department within the environmental team and work on EIA/ SEA reports nationwide, based from the office in Leeds. You may have the opportunity from time to time to work on projects overseas. You will be involved in staff and project management and be involved with all levels of project work from field surveys to producing ecological chapters for EIAs. Clients you will deal with include both public and private sector bodies and the majority of work will relate to linear development. There will also be involvement in sustainability and BREEM fields with professionals from across the consultancies disciplines. You will be expected to ensure development of your team and business development in your field.
