Senior Sustainability Consultant - Environmental and Sustainable Design

Salary : £30K

Qualification- Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold a minimum of a first degree in an Engineering discipline and a second degree with a Environmental / sustainability focus. The successful candidate is likely to be working towards Chartered status with a relevant body – IEMA/ CIWEM etc. A full clean driving licence is a requirement of the role.

Location- Newcastle

Experience- Candidates will be expected to hold demonstrable experience in the environmental sustainability field; Sustainability appraisals and assessments, Sustainable design advice, Master planning, Eco / Carbon foot printing, development of sustainability tools and experience of running stakeholder workshops is highly desirable. Candidates who also hold an area of specialism, for example in renewable energy analysis/ feasibility will be at an advantage.

Salary- £30,000

Company- Multidisciplinary consultancy

Duties Include:

  • Delivering a variety of sustainability services across the north east of the UK

  • Collaborating with teams from other disciplines on multidisciplinary sustainability projects

  • Managing small scale projects

  • Providing specialist sustainability advice to larger projects

  • Sustainable design and construction advice

  • Sustainability statements

  • Sustainability appraisals/ assessments

  • Running stakeholder workshops

  • Carbon footprint analysis

  • Development of sustainability tools

Typical Projects

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects in the sustainability field, you will work on behalf of both public and private sector clients and work will be focused on the delivery of sustainability products and solutions. You will typically be involved with sustainable design and construction advice, undertaking sustainability assessments and appraisals and preparing sustainability statements as part of the EIA process, including energy statements.
