This leading multidisciplinary consultancy have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical building services engineer to join their building services team in Manchester. Working on exciting projects in the Healthcare and Educational sectors you will provide specialist design and technical advice, and help to achieve low carbon / energy efficiency targets.

Qualification- Chartered mechanical engineer status, relevant degree / MEng, CIBSE, FIHEEM.

Location- Manchester

Experience- Ideal candidates for this role will have considerable consultancy experience in the building services sector with a focus on sustainable design of buildings – the successful candidate is likely to have a background in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment and those with demonstrable skills in project management and the ability to develop business / client relationships will be at an advantage. It is anticipated that candidates will have experience of acting as the lead mechanical engineer on large scale projects., and have an in-depth knowledge and experience in the Healthcare and Educational sectors.

Duties Include:

• Condition surveys

• Conceptual design

• Detailed design

• Calculations and preparations of drawings

• Incorporating low carbon / energy efficient technologies in to designs

• Using relevant software- Hevacomp, TAS, IES

• Managing and mentoring a team of engineers

• Liaising with clients

• Supporting the Associate Director in business development activities

Typical Projects

Working on a variety of buildings but with a focus on healthcare and educational projects, you will take a lead on design of mechanical building services with a focus on delivering designs with a sustainable / energy efficient focus.

Incorporating BREEAM/ CfSH/ Part L regulations in to designs you will deliver projects including the use of renewable and low carbon technologies.

Liaising with planners and other professionals you will manage projects across the UK.
