Arboricultural Surveyor

One of the UK largest environmental consultancies has an excellent opportunity for an Arboricultural surveyor to join their team based in the Midlands. The role will be a home based position, covering working across the Birmingham/ Nottingham/ Stoke regions.

Qualification- Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold relevant qualifications, a HND/ National Diploma/ Degree in Arboriculture or Forestry is preferred. Membership of a professional body and further professional qualifications are advantageous (Current personal rail safety accreditation is desirable). A full clean driving licence is a requirement for the role.

Location- Home based, working across the Midlands

Experience- Candidates are anticipated to hold some previous experience working in the Arboriculture industry, candidates will be expected to demonstrate skills and knowledge of a variety of tree and vegetation surveys and risk/ hazard assessment technologies. Those with previous experience of managing contracts and liaising with landowners and other stakeholders will be at an advantage.

Salary- In the region of £21,000 plus benefits

Duties Include:

  • Working on long term vegetation surveys and management contracts

  • Undertaking tree and vegetation surveys

  • Undertaking hazard and risk assessments using appropriate methodologies

  • Preparing tree work specifications

  • Using GIS and GPS systems

  • Negotiating with landowners and other stakeholders

  • Report preparation

Typical Projects

Working on a variety of arboriculture projects across the Midlands, you will work on projects including tree and vegetation surveys along rail tracks and in relation to utility supplies, e.g. overhead power lines.

You will undertake a variety of surveys, risk assessments and prepare tree work specifications, liaising with landowners and take holders throughout long term projects.

You will work across the Midlands, managing contracts and more junior members of staff as required. You may also have the opportunity to work on a number of large scale projects, or provide support to teams UK wide.
