Ecologist - Urgent 

North West, UK

Salary : £20K

This highly respected and expanding consultancy urgently require an experienced ecologist to join their North West based team, to provide support on a variety of projects, including protected species surveys and mitigation and BREEAM/ CfSH assessments.

Qualification- Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold a BSc / Msc in a relevant discipline (ecology/ biology or similar) and hold professional membership of IEEM. A full clean driving licence is a requirement of the role, and protected species licences in GCN and / or Bats is an advantage.

Experience- Candidates for this role are expected to be experienced in ecological surveying in a consultancy environment- the successful candidate will demonstrate a knowledge of a variety of protected species surveys, including GCN, Bats, Dormouse, mitigation schemes, and BREEAM/ CfSh assessments. Those with additional skills / experience in extended habitat and NVC surveys will be at an advantage.

Salary- In the region of £20,000

Company- Multidisciplinary consultancy

Duties Include:

  • Protected species surveys

  • Assisting on mitigation schemes

  • Phase 1 and extended phase 1 habitat surveys

  • NVC surveys

  • Report writing

  • EIA projects

  • Proving specialist ecological advice

  • Liaising with land owners

  • Ecological assessments and advice for BREEAM and CfSH projects

Typical Projects

Within this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ranging from transport and infrastructure developments through to BSF and restoration projects.

The role will involve providing support to the senior team, undertaking field surveys and writing reports / analysing data as required. You will also be liaising within multidisciplinary design teams to provide expert ecological advice for large scale developments.
