Scientific Officer

Salary : £16K+

This leading environmental consultancy have an excellent opportunity for a scientific officer to join their team based in Nottingham. Working within the agriculture and land based teams, you will be responsible for independently collecting and analysing field samples and data, liaising with clients and landowners and preparing reports.

Qualification- Candidates for this role are expected to hold a relevant degree/ MSc in Environmental science or similar, membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous. A full clean driving licence is a requirement of the role due to travel involved.

Location- Nottingham

Experience- The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate a good understanding of environmental science in a consultancy environment, with particular reference to soil, air and water measurements, and have experience of planning and undertaking field based experiments.

Salary- £16,000 plus benefits and training opportunities

Duties Include:

  • Working within the land research team

  • Field sampling and experiments

  • Liaising with landowners and stakeholders

Typical Projects

Working on a variety of land research projects, you will be working within the environmental team and be responsible for planning and undertaking a variety of field experiments and sampling, data collection and interpretation and liaising with landowners to gain access to sites.

Another major part of the role will be to liaise and communicate with land owners to gain information of farm practice data and land use data in order to complete multidisciplinary projects.
