Principal Ecologist – Protected Species Cambridge, UK Ref: CMP4106Salary : £34K+An excellent opportunity has arisen within this world leading consultancy for a highly experienced and qualified ecologist to join this expanding and busy ecology team. The opportunity exists to take a prominent role within the team and act as a lead to the technical team of 12 ecologists, and support the director of ecology in delivering high profile large scale projects across the UK. Qualification- CEnv status desirable, MSc/ BSc in a relevant discipline, full membership of IEEM, holder of or previously held (within last 5 years) protected species licences. Full clean driving licence. Location- Cambridge Experience- A strong ecology consultancy background, with specific knowledge of protected species – Bats, Dormouse and GCN of particular interest. Those with a strong background in working of public sector projects (DEFRA, NE) will be at an advantage as will those with a demonstrable track record in delivering EcIAs and developing a successful business stream within the ecology market. Those with specific knowledge of working on Water and Power industry projects will be of particular interest. Salary- £34,000 plus Company- Multidisciplinary consultancy, 14,000 Duties Include:
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. Currently the team have a large portfolio of projects within the Water and Power sectors, examples of current workload includes flood and river defence schemes, wind farm developments, utility upgrades, pipeline schemes.
