Senior Ecologist

South East

Salary : £31-36K+

One of the UK's largest independent consultancies s currently looking to expand its ecology team with the addition of a Senior Ecologist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their sills and experience and assist the consultancy in further developing the ecology services across the South East of the UK.

Qualification- Applicants for this role are anticipated to hold protected species licenses, full membership of IEEM, and a relevant academic background with a BSc / MSC in Ecology/ Biology / Natural sciences.

Location- Thame, commutable locations; Oxford, Bicester, Abingdon, Buckingham, Didcot, Reading, Witney

Experience- Candidates are expected to demonstrate an established ecology consultancy career, with strong skills in Phase 1 and Protected species survey and assessment for planning applications and EIA. The successful candidate will show a good understanding of the commercial ecology sector and be able to work with directors to further develop the ecology business with internal and external clients.

Salary- £31-36,000 plus comprehensive benefits scheme

Duties Include:

  • In this role you will act as a lead ecologist in the South East team, and get involved with projects at all levels, from planning and undertaking ecological field surveys, through to liaising with clients and technical report writing.

  • You will also be responsible for producing and implementing protected species development license applications, and helping to identify new areas in which you will be able to expand the business.
