Due to a continued increase in workload this multidisciplinary consultancy currently have an opportunity for an experienced ecologist to join their team based near Cambridge. The post would suit an ambitious individual with a background in ecological consultancy, with demonstrable skills in staff and project management.

Qualification- Applicants are anticipated to hold an appropriate academic background with a BSc / MSc in Ecology/ Zoology or similar. Full membership of IEEM and protected species licenses (bats in particular) will be an advantage.

Location- Newmarket- Commutable locations; Cambridge, St Ives, Huntingdon, Royston

Experience- Candidates for this role will hold a background in working on a variety of Ecology and EIA related projects, with experience preferably gained in a commercial / consultancy environment. The successful candidate will be experience in undertaking phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species assessments, and preparing technical chapters for EIA and appropriate assessments.

Salary-£25-30,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package

• Undertaking ecological surveys- including phase 1 and protected species surveys

• Technical report writing including chapters for EIA, Environmental Statements and Appropriate Assessments

• Liaising with clients (internal and external) and stakeholders

• Managing a team of ecologist and subcontractors when appropriate

• Project management

• Business development across the South East region
