Associate Director - Ecology

Glasgow

Salary : £40-55K

A rare opportunity has arisen within a leading environmental consultancy for an established ecologist to join their Glasgow team and assist the director in the day to day running of the ecology business and the further development of the ecology team and non-bird services.

The opportunity exists for an existing Principal or Associate Director to take on the role of Associate / Technical Director.

Qualification- Candidates for this role are anticipated to hold a relevant academic background with a BSc / MSc in Ecology / Zoology / Similar, with Chartered membership of IEEM, and protected species licenses.

Location- Glasgow – Scotland

Experience- The successful candidate will hold previous experience in the ecology consultancy field with strong skills in staff and project management, business development and EIA projects. Due to current work load applications are sought form candidates with demonstrable experience in the offshore, marine or terrestrial ecology field with relation to renewable energy developments.

Salary- £40-55,000- negotiable on skills and experience

Duties Include:

  • Assist in the growth and development of the ecology team across Scotland

  • Project management

  • Business development

  • Managing budgets

  • Providing expert marine and offshore ecology advice

  • Further development of Scottish clients and contacts

  • Client liaising

  • Staff management and mentoring

  • Planning and undertaking ecological surveys

  • Preparing chapters and reviewing technical reports for EIA, ES

  • Tender and bid preparation
