Geotechnical Engineer

My client provides comprehensive and integrated services for civil engineering, infrastructure and utilities clients across the UK. They have a reputation for providing professional delivery, safety, technical expertise and a culture of partnership. They are part of the top 10 UK construction group.

Qualifications: A BSc or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or a related discipline

Experience: 6 months to 4 years experience or more in the public or private sector

Duties:

• Visiting and assessing sites

• Supervision of site investigations

• Liaising with clients to maintain positive relations

• Scheduling of lab testing or geotechnical and geo – environmental samples

• Undertaking foundation works, slope stability projects, stabilization projects and rail projects

• Assisting in drilling and test pitting programmes

Typical projects

A recent project carried out by my client was the removal of a listed platform canopy from Kings Cross Station and are now in the process of building a new canopy. They have also been awarded the contract to deliver the new A1073 in the east of England. Work carried out by my client is divided into 4 main groups, infrastructure, tunnelling, rail and utilities.
