Penguin Recruitment are currently
working with an international environmental and engineering consultancy to fill
an urgent vacancy in their Edinburgh team. My client undertakes work in a
variety of different disciplines with consultants in Edinburgh specialising in
geology, hydrology, contaminated land investigation, Landfill CQA and other
related disciplines. They have recently seen a significant increase in the
amount of landfill design and CQA work and as such are seeking a motivated
individual, ideally with experience in this sector, to join the team.
About the role

You will be responsible for a
variety of responsibilities associated with landfill CQA including overseeing
landfill construction, preparing CQA plans and submitting them to the
Environment Agency, liaising with clients, contractors and the EA and
preparing CQA reports.

The role will be predominately
site based and you will be responsible for supervising sites, undertaking
contaminated land investigations, shell and auger drilling, rotary drilling
and dynamic probing.

Based from attractive premises
in Edinburgh the role will also include office based duties such as desk
studies, report writing, contract preparation and follow up work.

Project sites are situated
across the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to
sometimes work away from home for the duration of the week.
About you
-
The ideal candidate will be
educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as Geology, Earth Science,
Civil Engineering or similar.

Prior experience working in
landfill engineering is essential as you will be expected to manage your own
projects from award through to completion.

A full UK driving licence is
essential as you will be working on sites in sometimes isolated locations.
