Geotechnical Engineer

This company have a reputation of providing professional delivery with technical expertise to their clients. They are one of the top 10 construction groups and provide comprehensive and integrated services for civil engineering, infrastructure and utilities clients across the UK.

Qualifications: Ideally a BSc in Earth Sciences, Geology or equivalent with an additional qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Soil Mechanics or equivalent.

Experience: any experience in the sector would be advantageous though not essential

Duties

• Visiting and assessing sites

• Site investigations

• Scheduling of lab testing and geotechnical sampling

• Undertaking foundation works, slope stability projects, stabilization projects and rail projects

• Assisting in drilling and test pitting programmes

Typical projects

A recent project carried out by my client was the removal of a listed platform canopy from Kings Cross Station and are now in the process of building a new canopy. They have also been awarded the contract to deliver the new A1073 in the east of England. Work carried out by my client is divided into 4 main groups, infrastructure, tunnelling, rail and utilities.
