An exciting opportunity has arisen within a growing independent noise and vibration consultancy with a wealth of expertise across all areas of acoustic consultancy with particular emphasis on building acoustics. Due to an influx of projects particularly in the transportation and construction sectors this highly regarded firm seeks a Principal Acoustic Consultant with a diverse skill set and experience of rail and construction noise assessments to act as project lead in London.

Qualifications

Qualified to degree level in acoustics or acoustics related discipline (e.g. physics, maths, environmental sciences or environmental health)

Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role with expertise in environmental and/or building acoustics.

• Previous experience as Project Manager, to include budgeting, submitting proposals to clients, programming and report writing.

• The ability to use and instruct others in the use of sound and vibration meters.

• The ability to nurture and develop the technical capabilities of a team through affective management.

• Good IT and organisation skills are essential

Duties

• Overall Project Management responsibilities for project of various sizes

• Develop the business, negotiating with clients and contractors in order to develop existing relationships and to forge new business relationships in order to develop the acoustics sector within the business.

• Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines

• Responding to enquiries, communicating with clients to establish their needs and drafting fee proposals

Projects

Typical projects include train stations, sports stadia, theatre venues, airport terminals, concert halls, museums, office buildings, music venues, schools, hospitals and road schemes.
