An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Acoustic Consultant with specific expertise in Environmental Acoustics to join a highly recognized, award winning acoustic consultancy based in Portsmouth. Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar role and have specialist skills in wind farm noise.

Salary: Up to £27K- £35K dependent on experience

Qualifications:

Qualified to degree level in Acoustics/Noise and Vibration

Experience

• 5 years+ Consultancy experience in the field of Environmental acoustics

• Ideally experience in underwater acoustics or bioacoustics

• Strong problem solving ability

• Previous experience of working with a small research/consulting team

• Keen to work in a small company

• The ability to write high quality technical reports is essential

• A broad skill set with the ability to manage projects in other specialism’s of acoustics

• Ability to work professionally under pressure is essential

• An interest or experience in marine and environmental related activities would be seen as an advantage.

Duties

• Conduct research, development and consultancy to meet current and future needs in environmental and defense related underwater acoustics.

• Generate innovative solutions to challenging problems in acoustics.

• The development of ideas into functional underwater acoustic systems including mechanical, electronic and software design.

• Undertake measurements at sea, in the UK and worldwide.
