A highly respected and award
winning organization with multidisciplinary expertise in environmental
engineering spanning a wide variety of sectors has a requirement for highly
skilled Building Acoustician to manage a team of specialists and a diverse range
of projects out of their London based office. The successful applicant will be
responsible for technical leadership, management and development of the acoustic
team and liaison with clients and project teams, developing new business within
the UK and abroad.
Salary:
£27K- 38K depending on experience
Qualifications
Educated
to degree level (or equivalent or be able to demonstrate equivalent level of
understanding) in a relevant subject.
Hold
membership of the IOA.
Experience
-
Relevant experience gained
within an environmental consultancy or specialist acoustic consultancy.
-
Technical expertise in noise
including good working knowledge the most relevant standards and guidelines
i.e. PPG24, CRTN and BS4142 as well as experience in noise modelling
techniques.

Experience of building
acoustics
-
Project management experience
including experience of managing single and multi-disciplinary projects.

A track record in business
development activities is desirable or an ability to develop business
including client care.

Highly developed written and
verbal communication skills.

Full Driving License.
Duties
-
Offer and deliver noise and
vibration solutions to meet the business and client expectations
-
Act as a technical lead on a
range of projects and proposals and communicate complex issues to colleagues
and clients.

Responsible for the technical
work of less experienced consultants acting as a mentor within the noise team.

Responsible for client care as
required on projects
-
Client care to include
communication of progress, complex issues and any financial arrangements.
Ensure projects delivered are meeting the client’s needs.

Maintain senior level client
contacts and negotiate and agree commercial terms where appropriate

Proactively seek and develop
business development opportunities

Manage projects including
costs, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of
reports, presentations and other deliverables

Resolve technical and financial
queries through consultation with project managers and technical managers
where appropriate

Encourage and motivate the team
-
Demonstrate commitment to the
team by displaying a personal commitment and positive attitude at all times
and act as an ambassador for teamwork.
Projects
The project portfolio will
consist of various ongoing projects including large scale stadia, schools,
offices, residences and industrial spaces with a well established client base
within both the UK and developing world markets.
