Principal/Senior Acoustics Consultant

Salary : £30 - 65K

Our client, an international, award winning, multidisciplinary consultancy with a network of offices across the UK have a requirement for an experienced Principal/Senior Acoustic Consultant to join their vibrant office in Birmingham. The company is offering a marvelous opportunity for a candidate who has a background in both Environmental and Building acoustics with diverse expertise across all sectors to further develop their skills within the industry. You will have the privilege of working on some of today’s most important and challenging infrastructure, environmental, energy and development projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Acoustics or a related discipline with a suitable post-graduate qualification (e.g. IoA diploma)

Salary: £30K – £65K depending on experience

Experience

  • Considerable acoustic consultancy experience preferably in the fields of Building and Environmental acoustics

  • Experience of relevant legislation, standards and codes for both the UK and a wider international market would be expected.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate at all levels

  • A proven track record in effective project and financial management

  • Ability to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy

  • Strong project and people management skills are essential.

  • A proven record of building long term relationships with environmental and planning consultants

  • Strong background in business development

  • Proven record in all core areas of environmental impact noise assessment

  • Previous expert witness experience at public inquiries

Duties

  • Preparing fee proposals for medium sized projects with guidance from senior staff

  • Writing technically accurate reports

  • Assessment in accordance with (PPG) 24, BS4142, BS 6472, BS 5228, ADE 2003 with emphasis on BB93

  • Advice on legislation

  • Extensive work within the education sector

  • Training Junior Members of the team

  • Business development/ Procurement of New Business

  • Overseeing Noise Monitoring

  • Providing Technical Input into reports/ Proposals

  • Completing Project objectives on time and budget

  • Preparation of Budgets/ Tenders

  • Liaison with Clients and providing advice in order to meet their needs

Projects

transportation; general industrial; manufacturing; power and utilities; commercial; residential; construction and demolition; minerals and waste; noise and vibration assessment as part of Environmental Statements; noise in the workplace; architectural acoustics; and noise and vibration control.
