Principal Acoustic Consultant

Sunderland

Salary : £30-45K+

Our Client is a thriving independent, multidisciplinary consultancy serving clients across the globe in sectors such as mining, waste management, minerals and energy with a network of offices across the UK. Due to continued growth, a Principal Acoustic Consultant ideally with expertise in both environmental acoustics and air quality is currently sought to manage a team of noise and air specialists in their Sunderland based office. You will possess a proven track record of project and people management in addition to business development. In return you will receive a highly competitive salary and benefits package including a generous holiday allowance, pension and healthcare.

Salary: £30 - 45K + benefits, depending on experience

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline, ideally acoustics/noise and vibration

  • MIOA

Experience:

  • Significant acoustic consultancy experience at Principal level in the environmental sector.

  • Ideally experience of managing air quality projects and consultants

  • The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in effective project and people management.

  • A proven track record of business development

  • An extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics

  • Previous experience as Project Manager, to include budgeting, submitting proposals to clients, programming and report writing.

  • The ability to nurture and develop the technical capabilities of a team through effective management.

  • Highly experienced in report writing, making presentations, and working to deadlines

  • Familiarity with noise modeling software, ideally using CadnaA

Duties:

  • Overall Project Management responsibilities for project of various sizes

  • Develop and secure new business, negotiating with clients and contractors in order to develop existing relationships and to forge new business relationships in order to develop the acoustics sector within the business.

  • Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines

  • Responding to enquiries, communicating with clients to establish their needs and drafting fee proposals

  • Provide technical leadership

  • Lead on project delivery and take responsibility for the support team and associated recruitment, performance appraisals and personal development plans

  • Expert advice in inquiries and planning appeals
