Acoustic Consultant

An urgent opportunity exists within an increasingly expanding, international engineering consultancy with offices spanning the globe and specialist expertise in natural resources, nuclear, energy, water and environmental sectors. Due to increasing work loads a suitably qualified and experienced acoustic consultant in sought with a strong background in environmental acoustics to join their noise and air department in Manchester. You will receive continued support from an organisation which heavily promotes career development, be exposed to a broad and challenging project and client portfolio both in the UK and abroad and enjoy a generous salary and benefits package including pension, gym membership and healthcare.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably MSc/BSc in Acoustics/ Noise and Vibration/ IOA Diploma

  • MIOA

  • Full driving license

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years consultancy experience in the field of Environmental Acoustics

  • Technically competent and IT proficient

  • Commercially aware and team player

  • Good communication and client liaison skills

  • Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics.

  • Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment.

  • The ability to produce technically accurate reports

  • Experience of CadNA

  • Specialist understanding of the required standards and regulations

  • Ideally previous experience of vibration monitoring

  • Preferable project management and business development experience

Duties:

  • Project management of environmental acoustic projects covering areas such as industrial noise, environmental noise impact assessment, construction noise and vibration, occupational noise and vibration, etc.;

  • Client maintenance;

  • Consultations with regulatory authorities & other stakeholders as appropriate;

  • Business development

  • Data analysis and manipulation;

  • Technical support to other groups;

  • Site visits and investigations;

  • Undertake relevant research, where appropriate.

Projects:

Delivering a number of exciting and substantial projects within the divisions of transportation, construction, manufacturing, retail, waste disposal, nuclear, recycling and gas/energy.
