Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant

Salary : £35-45K+
A rapidly
expanding multidisciplinary consultancy providing specialist services in
engineering consultancy serving public and private sectors worldwide have an
urgent requirement for a highly skilled Acoustic Consultant with considerable
experience at principal level. You will have expertise relating to environmental
acoustics and transport schemes with a proven track record in business
development, project and people management and mentoring junior members of the
staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Acoustic Consultant to

Salary:
£35K-45K + Comprehensive benefits package & Bonus
Qualifications:
-
A strong first or higher degree
in acoustics, ideally combined with science, architecture, construction
management or engineering studies at graduate or post graduate level
-
Membership of the IOA or
equivalent body is strongly desired for this role.
Experience:
-
Considerable experience of
Acoustic Consultancy within the Environmental sector at Senior/Principal level
-
Experience of relevant
legislation, standards and codes for both the UK and a wider international
market would be expected.

Excellent written, oral and
visual communication skills.

Strong background in business
development

A proven track record in
effective project and financial management

Ability to write fluent and
intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy

Strong project and people
management skills are essential

Ability to manage time,
resources and projects effectively
Duties:
-
Act as an ambassador for
teamwork, training and mentoring more junior staff where necessary
-
Presentation of expert evidence
at Public Inquiries on behalf of both developers and objectors.

Resolving complex acoustical
engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies
-
Managing current and future
assessment projects,
-
Managing noise issues related
to the planning process
-
Summarising data
interpretations and providing conclusions
-
Supervising and co-ordinating
the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
-
Managing project teams to
ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines, financial forecasting
and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget
-
Build client relationships,
respond to enquiries, communicate with clients to establish their needs and
draft fee proposals

Contribute to group expansion
and develop and maintain business through networking, contact nurturing and
presentations
