If you
are highly skilled in Digital Signal Processing systems design applied to
acoustics with a strong background in the development of DSP algorithms used in
systems such as active noise reduction, acoustic echo cancellation and speech
recognition then our Client would urgently like to hear from you. The
organisation looking to recruit is recognised as a worldwide leader in
communication ancillaries for military markets providing hearing protection and
communications capabilities in harsh environments. The position they are looking
to fill is a DSP Technical Lead to join their busy electro-acoustics engineering
team in London. The successful applicant will be able to think on their feet and
be comfortable in a fast paced research and development environment.

Qualifications:
Experience:
-
5 or more years digital signal
processing systems design experience applied to acoustics
-
Current practical experience of
implementing real time DSP algorithms into fully realised voice based products
on a variety of DSP platforms.

Strong mathematical knowledge
of modeling acoustic systems, the design of digital filters (FIR and IIR) and
the development of DSP algorithms used in such systems (e.g. active noise
reduction, acoustic echo cancellation, speech recognition etc.) .

Current practical experience of
DSP Software development including leading developments.

Experience of working in a
product development environment.

Experience of designing for
military grade applications.

Aware of latest trends and
developments in DSP.

Capable of UK security
clearance.

Excellent communication with
strong personal gravitas.

Confident/self driven and
motivated
Duties:
-
Technical lead and architect
for large scale DSP development programs with a specialty in close coupled
acoustics and Active Noise Reduction.
-
Close coupled acoustics
research activities and design/development/simulation of related new DSP
algorithms in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
-
Characterisation and tuning of
algorithms on a variety of headset platforms to provide a highly controlled
acoustic environment.

Expert assessment and design of
new DSP physical layer implementation and lead the associated software
development.

Working with internal and
external customers and partners throughout the product development lifecycle
to provide expert technical opinion, design advice and engineering support.

Technical coordination and
leadership of partners and in-house teams.
