Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Qualification: You will have a BSc AND MSc in engineering geology, applied geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, earth science, ground engineering, land management or similar.

Experience: You will ideally have prior experience of working for either a consultancy or contractor; alternatively you may have undertaken an industrial or summer placement which will also be beneficial. A passion and enthusiasm for the sector are a must!

Salary: £20,000 + benefits package

Duties:

• Visiting and assessing sites across the South West region, Bath, Swindon, Bristol

• Undertaking site sampling, monitoring, and observation.

• Scheduling laboratory testing for geotechnical and geo-environmental samples

• Assisting in drilling and test-pitting programmes

• Undertaking foundation works, slope stability projects, stabilization projects and rail projects

• Producing detailed and accurate factual and interpretive reports

• Working closely with members of the senior management team

• Liaising with clients to maintain positive relations

• Working on a variety of sites so adaptability to different scenarios is essential.

Typical Projects:

This international consultancy are involved in environmental planning, management, design and engineering and play host to an array of clients. They are currently looking to develop and expand their relatively new South West team and are seeking committed and enthusiastic environmental engineers to assist them. They are currently involved in designing innovative solutions for a major mine stabilization projects and are soon to be involved in nuclear projects and rail projects across the South West in areas such as Swindon, Bath and Somerset.
