Salary: £30K

Qualification: You will have BSc or MSc in environmental science, environmental geoscience, contaminated land, applied geology, earth science or similar.

Experience: It is essential that you have prior experience of working in a contaminated land/ geo-environmental role previously, ideally whilst working for a consultancy or contractor.

Salary: circa £30,000

Duties:

  • Carrying out Phase 1 desk studies and undertaking thorough phase 2 site investigations

  • Supervision and planning of these investigations through all stages

  • Conducting geo-environmental risk evaluations; both groundwater and human health assessments

  • Ensuring projects adhere to current UK legislation

  • Pre-development of green and brownfield sites

  • Aiding in new site acquisition

  • Frequent client liaison

Typical Projects:

This growing Gloucester based environmental consultancy specialises in geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering and ground investigations and are seeking a geo-environmental professional looking to expand their career by undertaking this supervisory role. Along with a proficiency in undertaking phase 1 and 2 investigations you will be confident with carrying out both groundwater and human health risk assessments and will ideally be in a position to supervise more junior members of staff. The post will involve the supervision of projects from estimation to completion, liaison with clients and other professionals, engaging subcontractors and assisting the Department Manager in the management of a team of 7 environmental staff. This is a dynamic and challenging role that will really allow you to push yourself and your career forward.
