Junior Engineering Geologist

Bristol, UK

Salary: £19 - 24K+

Qualification: You will have a BSc or ideally MSc in engineering geology, applied geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, earth science, ground engineering, land management or similar.

Experience: You will ideally have prior experience of working for either a consultancy or contractor; alternatively you may have undertaken an industrial or summer placement which will also be beneficial. A passion and enthusiasm for the sector are a must!

Salary: £19-24,000 + benefits package

Duties:

  • Visiting and assessing sites,

  • Undertaking site sampling, monitoring, and observation.

  • Scheduling laboratory testing for geotechnical and geo-environmental samples

  • Assisting in drilling and test-pitting programmes

  • Undertaking foundation works, slope stability projects, stabilization projects and rail projects

  • Producing detailed and accurate factual and interpretive reports

  • Working closely with members of the senior management team

  • Liaising with clients to maintain positive relations

  • Working on a variety of sites so adaptability to different scenarios is essential.

Typical Projects:

This global consultancy are building a new team in Bristol and are looking for engineers to be involved in a mixture of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects. They are currently involved in designing innovative solutions for a major mine stabilization projects and are soon to be involved in nuclear projects and rail projects across the South West region.
