Ornithologist - Scotland.
A well-known environmental consultancy is looking to expand a Scotland based team with the appointment of an Ornithologist. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a number of high profile projects, gaining experience within an award winning multinational.
This position will initially be offered as a six month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and workload.
Salary - £18-20,000
depending on experience.
Fieldwork location - Scottish Highlands.
Qualifications
-Demonstrable ornithology work in conjunction with wind farm developments
-Previous experience working with wind energy and renewable projects
-Full UK driving license
-Knowledge and understanding of bird chapters and EIA work
Main duties of the role :
1.Managing ornithological surveys in relation to wind farm developments
2.Conducting a range of bird surveys including vantage point, winter bird and breeding bird
3.Liaise with a portfolio of clients and manage small on-site ornithological teams
