Senior Environmental Acoustic Specialist - Lancashire



Location: Lancashire, England
Salary: £25000 - £35000 per annum

Our client, A globally recognised environmental consultancy providing a broad variety of environmental services to a vast and prestigious client base is currently in need of a Senior Acoustic Consultant to manage and grow a team of committed and enthusiastic specialists in their Nottingham office. The vacancy exists within the in house environmental acoustics practice and requires a suitably qualified candidate with significan t consultancy experience, preferably within noise modeling, vibration monitoring and assessment.

Salary: £25 - £35K

Qualifications
MSc/BSc in Acoustics/Noise and Vibration

Experience
5 years+ senior post graduate experience in Acoustic Consultancy within the Environmental field
The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in effective project and people management.
Personal experience of Noise Modeling using a recognized software package.
Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics.
Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment.
Strong project management skills.
Qualified to appear at Public Enquiry Level

Duties
Act as an ambassador for teamwork, training more junior staff where necessary in the use of modelling software.
Presentation of expert evidence at Public Inquiries on behalf of both developers and objectors.
Resolving complex acoustical engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies
Training and organization of junior consultants,
Managing current and future assessment projects,
Overseeing and contributing to the planning and execution of acoustics, noise and vibration projects
Managing noise issues related to the planning process
Summarising data interpretations and providing conclusions
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
Managing project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines, financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget
Preparation of reports for planning applications, environmental statements and noise chapters for environmental impact assessments

Projects
You will be involved in a number of developments including industry, mineral extraction, waste disposal, commercial and housing developments, transport schemes, superstore schemes, energy generating, entertainment and leisure activities, on and off shore oil exploration and development fields.
