Ornithological/Senior Ornithological Consultant.

Our client is an internationally recognised environmental and engineering consultancy. This award winning consultancy is able to provide expert advice on a range of technical issues to the public and private sector.

Their ecology team is strategically placed in core areas across the UK, including a talented team of ornithologists. Due to a steadily increasing ornithological workload, this well esta blished company are looking to employ an experienced, specialist Ornithological Consultant primarily to work on survey sites across Wales and the of England. Workloads across other areas of the UK will also be apparent, therefore flexibility for travel ill be essential in this role, coupled with a full, clean UK driving licence.

Office location is negotiable depending on the skill set of a candidate.

Salary - Negotiable depending on ornithological experience.

Suitable applicants will be confident in completing a range of ornithological surveys (in particular breeding bird and vantage point) in addition to holding previous experience working on renewable (onshore wind farm) and infrastructure (power line) developments. A Schedule 1 Birding licence will also be sought after.

As an integral part of the ornithological team, you will:
1.Undertake a range of ornithological surveys
2.Write ornithological chapters for statements and technical reports
3.Assist in the management of small and large ornithological projects
4.Provide advice and assistance to a portfolio of clients and stakeholders
5.Train and develop the ornithological skills of junior staff
6.Assistant the Principal Ornithologist in the overall running of the UK ornithological team

This role requires an experienced consultant with strong bird identification skills, coupled with excellent project management and team leadership experience.
