Penguin are pleased to be working with a UK leading Planning consultancy in central Bristol who are looking to recruit a Senior Town Planner to join their large team in Bristol

The company, a 2016 ‘Top 10’ consultancy have offices across the UK and a large network of Planners that are recognised leaders in numerous fields such as Residential, Commercial, Mixed Use, Retail, Office, Leisure, Industrial, Health, Education, Energy & Infrastructure.

Our client’s established and busy Bristol Planning team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious and commercially minded Senior Town Planner to join their growing team to work on a broad range of planning projects. The candidate will play a key part in delivering the teams’ existing work requirements as well as assisting with further growth across the South West with the successful candidate helping to develop and deliver opportunities and building on the teams’ success to date.

Key duties

  • Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications
  • Preparation of planning and economic statements
  • Policy representations
  • Planning appeal assistance
  • Promoting developments through the Local Development Framework
  • Developing client relationships and generating work
  • Co-ordination of project teams and project management
  • Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
  • Support junior members of staff
  • Support Directors on large scale projects

Job requirements

  • Hold a RTPI Planning degree and MRTPI membership
  • Have solid development control experience
  • Have experience of working on residential, mixed use, commercial, infrastructure developments
  • Are committed and have an eye for detail
  • Used to working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative
  • Are personable and have a strong team capability
  • Have excellent organisational and project management skills
