Senior Arboriculture Consultant

My client is a fast-growing environmental consultancy who deliver high quality Ecology and Arboriculture services to client projects throughout the UK. My client works with architects, home owners, developers, engineers, land buyers and project managers on a variety of challenging projects in the renewable energy, healthcare, education, residential and historic buildings sectors. This business work closely with their clients, maintaining excellent working relationships throughout all stages of their project. Due to continued expansion, a Senior Arboriculture Consultant is required to help with the development of arboriculture within the company from their Cambridge office.


* Strong academic background with an Arb, BSc, PDArb or FsSc Arb in Arboriculture or an equivalent qualification
* Membership of a relevant professional body, e.g. Arboriculture Association, International Society of Arboriculture
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to liaise with a range of clients and sub-consultants
* Strong report writing skills with demonstrable experience producing a range of tree reports suitable for planning applications
* Extensive experience completing BS 5837 surveys and preparing Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements
* Commercial awareness, ability to win new work, maintain excellent working relationships with clients and sub-consultants
* Positive, professional and highly motivated
* Good working knowledge of industry standard software and enthusiastic about developing new skills in this area
* Willingness to assist with ecology work when necessary
* Excellent knowledge of the health and safety aspects of site work and supervision
* Full, clean driving licence


Working as a Senior Arboriculture Consultant, the main duties of your role will include:

* Preparing drawings and reports of survey work undertaken using the relevant software, e.g. AutoCAD, QArb and Microsoft Office
* Undertaking a range of British Standard (BS) tree surveys and site inspections
* Providing expert advice to clients in relation to the impact on trees of proposals and projects
* Producing high quality reports, including Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements
* Working efficiently within project deadlines and budget restraints
* Maintaining excellent working relationships with existing client as well as acquiring new business
* Dealing with client enquiries and preparing fee proposals
