My client, an independent UK-leading environmental consultancy, provide high quality agricultural, environmental and rural development services to a varied client group across the country. This organisation is made up of highly qualified professionals with expertise spanning right across the environmental sector. Recent project sectors that this business have worked in include the food and drink industry, water, sustainability, renewable energy, agriculture and farming. Due to continued success and planned expansion, my client is looking for an Arboricultural Consultant to join the team and to be based in their Oxfordshire office.

Person Specification

To be considered for this position, you will have:

* A degree and ideally a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
* A full clean, driving licence
* Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Arboricultural Association, Institute of Chartered Foresters etc.
* Experience working in a similar position, ideally within an environmental consultancy
* Good working knowledge of British Standard tree surveys (BS5837:2012 and BS3998:2010)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with a wide range of clients
* Extensive knowledge of professional arboricultural work; able to work independently as well as within a team

About the Role

Working as an arboricultural consultant, your main duties will include:

* Undertaking tree surveys in relation to the requirements of BS5837:2012 and providing expert advice to various client projects
* Completing hazard assessments, tree health surveys, tree inspections and risk assessment surveys
* Playing a role in the management of arboricultural works on a range of sites, including overseeing the work of contractors and assisting with any queries where necessary
* Drafting proposals and quotes, assisting with the submission of tenders
* Representing the company at sales visits, acquiring new business for the company as well as maintaining existing client relationships
* Identifying opportunities for follow-on business/arboricultural work
* Producing high quality reports and documents, such as management plans for trees and woodlands
* Working within given time and budgets constraints, ensuring all work is delivered to meet the client’s requirements
