Senior Ecologist

My client is one of the UK’s largest independent ecological consultancies providing environmental and agricultural advice to customers from both public and private sectors. Recognised for their highly ethical and professional service, this client has become the leader in environmental and rural sectors and are now looking to expand their team during this busy survey season.

Requirements

* A degree in Ecology or a related environmental discipline
* Full CIEEM membership
* At least 4 years’ post-graduate experience within an environmental or ecological consultancy
* Experience in protected species surveying
* Extended Phase 1 habitat survey skills
* Project management experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Full UK driving license

Responsibilities

* Carrying out field work e.g. surveying environmental conditions including plants and animals
* Leading and writing Environmental Impact Assessments
* Undertaking a wide range of ecological surveys (Phase 1 habitat, protected species surveys, mitigation)
* Managing wildlife conservation
* Report writing
* Liaising with clients, office and sub consultants
* Knowledge of new environmental policies and legislation
* Analysing and interpreting data, using specialist software programs
