Senior Environmental Consultant

Due to continued growth and success, my client requires a Senior Environmental Consultant to join the team in Manchester.

Requirements and Experience

* Bachelor’s degree, Masters or PhD in an environmental discipline
* In depth understanding of the principles of environmental consultancy and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
* Membership of a relevant professional body, such as CIEEM, IEMA, RTPI
* Excellent working knowledge of the UK planning system
* Experience managing and leading a wide range of environmental projects
* Experience and knowledge of preparing tenders and proposals
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Good IT skills in industry standard software, e.g. Microsoft Office
* Demonstrable report-writing and bid-writing skills
* UK work experience is essential
* Experience in the water industry would also be desirable

About the Position

Working as a senior environmental consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of EIA and other Senior Manager within the company. You will lead and manage your own environmental projects, supervising projects teams and assisting more junior team members when necessary. You will deliver all aspects of environmental consultancy, ensuring client demands are met to the highest possible standards. You will also be required to develop business opportunities, identifying new potential clients as well as maintaining excellent relationships with existing clients.

You will be required to produce high quality written reports and documents, write bids and prepare proposals and tenders. You will project manage and co-ordinate a wide range of studies and will oversee the technical work of sub-consultants and more junior team members.
