Ecology Consultant

My client, an international organisation made up of consulting engineers, management consultants and designers, is looking to expand their Environmental and Health division by appointing experienced ecologists in their West Midlands office. This business offers expert solutions to complex projects in sectors including Transport, Planning and Urban Design, Environment and Health, Water, Oil and Gas and Energy. Working with clients throughout the UK and further afield, you will be joining a highly reputable practice with the chance to work on a wide variety of infrastructure and commercial projects.

Requirements

* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
* Ideally at least one protected species licence, e.g. bat, GCN
* Educated to at least degree level in a relevant subject discipline
* Strong IT skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience working on a wide and varied range of field surveys
* Demonstrable ability to produce high-quality written reports and documents
* Organised and methodical; ability to prioritise workload and work to given time constraints
* Capable of working independently as well as within a team
* Commercial awareness
* Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

Working as an Ecology Consultant, you can expect your key responsibilities to include:

* Undertaking ecological mitigation design
* Undertaking a range of ecological surveys
* Producing high quality reports
* Liaising with regulators and planning authorities
* Delivering a variety of complex and challenging projects on time and within budget
* Liaising with clients and sub-consultants
* Maintaining excellent working relationships with clients, spotting opportunities for follow up work
* Assisting, where necessary, with other environmental disciplines and with project managers across the wider practice
