EIA Consultant

My client, a highly-reputable environmental consultancy based in Scotland, is looking to appoint an experienced EIA Consultant in their head office in Glasgow. This organisation works out of 4 offices across Scotland and pride themselves on providing innovative and effective solutions to client projects throughout the region. My client offers expert ecology, environmental impact assessment, water management and contaminated land services in both the public and private sectors including healthcare, education, research, residential, energy and renewables and industrial.

Requirements

* A relevant undergraduate degree and, preferably, an additional MSc
* A minimum of 3 years’ EIA consultancy experience
* Project management experience
* Demonstrable experience compiling Environmental Statements
* Commercial awareness
* Strong project management skills
* A good understanding of the Scottish Planning System and EIA legislation
* Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with colleagues, sub-consultants, clients and regulators
* Associate Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)
* Ability to produce high quality written reports
* Direct experience of the Scottish planning system is also desirable

Role Responsibilities

* Providing support to the Environmental Assessment team, including writing tender proposals for a wide and varied range of EIA projects and developing new business opportunities
* Coordinating a busy multi-disciplinary team and providing advice and guidance where necessary
* Liaising with a varied client group, regularly acting as a client interface
* Writing relevant sections of EIA reports and Environmental Statements
* Involvement in projects across a range of sectors including healthcare, education, research, residential, energy and renewables
* Helping to build on this company’s existing and growing EIA portfolio
