Penguin are pleased to be supporting one of the UK’s leading Planning & Design Consultancies with the appointment of a capable and ambitious Associate Town Planner. Join the large London office where you will work alongside an experienced team on some of the capital’s largest and most important projects!
These projects include estate regeneration, new masterplans, large scale mixed-use schemes and small/medium sized urban applications. The London Planning team is fortunate to be involved in some amazing projects and has a significant role to play in helping to deliver regeneration and new development across many parts of London!
The Director is exceptional technically and a great mentor. She joined the business as a Graduate and has progressed to Director and so can offer the required support and guidance to help you acheive your career objectives.
This team works on schemes in London and across the South East that are mostly mixed use resi-led schemes, with urban regeneration, alongwith some quirky projects giving you great exposure to a variety of clients.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
-Working as part of a team on large scale regeneration projects;
-Assisting with Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary project teams and project management;
-Assisting with major applications (Outline, Full, Sub Framework Plan and Reserved Matters) including; attending meetings, preparation of meeting minutes, deliverable trackers, programmes, drafting planning statements, public consultation and responses to consultees;
-Preparation, submission and negotiation of small / medium sized planning applications including: small/medium scale residential and commercial schemes, S.73/S.96 applications, discharge of conditions, advertisement consents, Listed Building Consents and temporary permissions;
-Conducting research and site appraisals on projects;
-Assisting with project tenders and client presentations; and
-Drafting policy representations.
It is essential that candidates:
-Are MRTPI qualified or working towards it
-Have good planning experience, ideally 6-8 years (London experience desirable)
-Have experience of working on residential and mixed-use developments
-Have strong communication skills, both written and oral
-Are committed and have an eye for detail
-Have an ability to use their own initiative and
-Have a strong teamwork ethic.
-Consultancy experience (desirable but not essential)
