Graduate Landscape Architect

My client is an independent environmental planning and design consultancy who specialise in the provision of high quality landscape, ecology, archaeology and arboriculture services. Working in sectors including commercial and leisure, education, urban regeneration, energy and infrastructure, this organisation work on a wide variety of exciting and innovative projects. Due to the continued success of the Landscape team and exciting new projects, my client is actively seeking a Graduate Landscape Architect to join the team and to be based in their Gloucestershire office.


To be considered for the position of Graduate Landscape Architect, you will be expected to meet the following requirements:

* A degree and post-graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident liaising with a range of clients and colleagues
* Strong design and creative flair and a commitment to quality awareness
* Demonstrable hand drawing skills
* Strong working knowledge of industry standard software, e.g. AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite and standard Microsoft packages
* Knowledge and understanding of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) work
* Ability to work well independently as well as within part of a larger team
* Ability to work well under pressure, within given time and budget constraints
* Experience being involved with the coordination and management of projects

*Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Autodesk Revit or GIS packages will be advantageous, but not essential*

Role Responsibilities

Working as a Graduate Landscape Architect, your role will include:

* Providing specialist technical support to consultants and project managers across a range of multi-disciplinary projects
* Conducting site visits and surveying landscapes with subsequent design processes and LVIA work in mind
* Developing masterplans and detailed design drawings
* Preparing LVIAs to the highest possible standards
* Preparing detailed design layouts for various hard and soft landscapes
* Involvement with preparing tenders and fee proposals
* Liaising with a varied client group, maintaining excellent working relationships and spotting opportunities for follow up work
* Producing quality drawn and written material, by hand and computer aided, that meet the client’s standards
